In 2015 I decided to start road biking. Since then, most rides have been relatively short (along the Tama River). 5 years later, in 2020, I was going to attempt a new fitness challenge: The KIWL 2020 500km ride. But then Covid-19 happened and the event was cancelled.
So, now I am going to join the 2021 KIWL 500:5000 event which starts June 1st and ends June 30th. The 500:5000 is an individual challenge in which each rider has to cycle at least 500km and ascend at least 5,000 metres, within one month.

Check the Road Bike Rides below for details of the Challenge rides. In addition, below is my progress calendar:
The goal of KIWL is to raise money for disadvantaged children in Japan. In 2019, 42 riders completed the ride, which (including supplemental events), raised ¥14.5 million for the chosen charity, YouMeWe NPO.
I am aiming to raise as much money as possible so that this year, KIWL can better the record set in 2019. I would very much appreciate your pledge to sponsor my participation in the 2021 500:5000 challenge. To make your pledge, please fill out the form below.
Once I have completed the ride, then I will ask you to honour your pledge (via a suitable method of payment)
